I believe that everyone in this community has something to add. Each of you have a voice of experience and have been given unique talents from God.

The purpose of this group is to coordinate the management of this community by helping our members to use their gifts and strengths to serve others. God has laid this heavy on my heart. I can not do everything. Nor, do I want to. I wish only to serve this community by using my gifts. In many ways joining this group will only be recognizing what many of you already are doing... serving this community in your own unique way.

To be a part of the smconnect leaders group you will need to do the following:

PRAY for this community and its members.
COMMIT to invest some of your time and talents here.
SERVE by doing what ever it is God has designed you to do.

Here are some important things about us to help guide your steps:

Back to the Bible

I know how it is...from the moment you open your eyes until you shut them at bedtime you have interruption after interruption. Let's face it- we all are busy. Yet that doesn't excuse the fact that we must make Bible study and prayer a regular part of our schedule. So here is an easy way for you to at least have a 'spiritual snack' each day for the rest of this week. Happy eating!
Tuesday

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:11-12)

Thoughts about todays's verse

For most who can read this Internet message, the sentiments of this verse seem foreign. But among those who closely study persecution, believers in Christ are enduring perhaps the greatest amount of persecution in the history of Christianity. For those of us who live in cozy places where belief is tolerated and Christians are just considered "unhip" or a bit out of touch, we need to be thankful that our lives make enough of a distinction from our culture to be noticed, even if it's a bit unfavorably. But at the same time, we need to pray for other believers throughout the world who are undergoing the wrath of hell for the faith.
My Prayer

Great Deliverer, we have many who call on your name with faith in Jesus who face persecution and hardship every day. I pray that they will not lose heart and give up their confidence. I pray that you will bring deliverance from this time of persecution. I pray that their sufferings will be the source of powerful witness so others will come to see the great value of Jesus and our allegiance to him. This I pray in his precious and holy name. Amen.
